Learn the ins and outs of pectin-free preserving with expert jammer Kelly Geary, also the founder of the highly-addictive Sweet Deliverance granolas (all three flavors are AMAZING!). We will talk about the different methods, safety and science involved in preserving the bounty of summer in the Hudson Valley, then you’ll make your own batch of jam to take home. Rebecca Miller Ffrench, founder The Upstate Table, will also walk you through making buttery, homemade biscuits as a vehicle for your delicious preserves. We'll be serving up some savory treats with jam, too, for noshing. We hope you’ll join us for some jamming and feasting in this fun, hands-on worksop.
Kelly Geary is a master preserve maker. Her book Tart & Sweet was published by Rodale in 2011. She makes preserves for Blue Hill for Stone Barns, as well as continuing to run her own company, Sweet Deliverance. Kelly also works as a private chef, caterer, and consultant, having opened multiple restaurants throughout the country.
