A friend of ours who recently moved to Kingston said she now has the townhouse she's always dreamed of having in Brooklyn, but at a quarter of the price. Real estate is booming here, and many are transplanting to the area. For locals and visitors alike, Kingston is an excellent base for exploring the Hudson Valley and Catskills regions, and even points further north including Albany and the Finger Lakes.
Following are some our favorite places to food shop, eat + drink, explore, and stay not more than one hour from Kingston in any direction west of the Hudson River.
